Ibiuna House MP by DT Estudio
Ibuina House MP is a beautiful and luxurious modern residence designed by DT Estudio. Located in the city of Ibuina in Brazil, about 60 miles from Sao Paulo. This house is placed in the midst of stunning natural scenery that gives its inhabitants a stunning view around it, but this building presents several challenges for design, especially, preserving native trees and considering their tendencies.
Located in Ibiuna, 90 km from São Paulo, Brazil, the design of this house is a big challenge. The client’s desire to have a home that is integrated with the surrounding nature leads to a plot with several native trees. Another important factor is the downward trend of the original landscape from the access point to the end of the plot, giving access to the existing lake.
The house is then distributed at different levels to complete through plot tendencies, which create visual integration between half the level and higher ceiling originates in the living room and kitchen, the area where families gather.
The location of the house in a special plot of the best orientation, setting the bedroom to the North and guaranteeing direct sunlight in the swimming pool for most of the year. To ensure the privacy of the road, the house opens itself to the back of the plot and to its own internal area.
The social area is located on the ground floor – living and dining area, kitchen, tv room, and veranda. The latter, close to the pool, is the heart of the house. The concept of infinity pool is to make a large mirror to reflect the surrounding nature. Halfway below, we found three guest suites and a garage, isolating the car from the social area.
Half up from the social field, we found two family suites and a family room. This bedroom distribution helps avoid the sensation of an empty house when guests are not in. Downstairs, on the veranda, there is a sauna and a deck.
The house has a mixed wood and concrete structure. The foundation and lower levels are made of concrete. From the ground floor to the top, this building is a pre fab laminated wooden structure. The choice of using wood not only optimizes construction sites and minimizes losses, it also increases integration with the natural surroundings, a strong demand from clients. The choice of materials for the house – stone, wood, corten steel – also works together to create a comfortable living space.
For roof blocks, we adopt two types: traditional ceramic tiles above the kitchen and tv room and a flat roof with Alwitra and wood – a classic lightweight solution – on top of other blocks. This aesthetic combination creates a smooth facade, volumetric rhythm, and attractive internal spaces that display wooden structures.
